I ran in this race with my older brother Alex Bridgeforth (@alexbridgeforth). My other older brother Keith Bridgeforth (@newnation) ran the half-marathon.
This race started out like any normal race, too fast! I should have started out slower because I guess I did not realize how much of a big hill was in this race. I feel like I was going up hill for like the whole race.
I really got down on myself at about 15 miles. It was going good up until this point and then I felt like I couldn't go anymore. I honestly felt like just stopping and giving up. However, I knew I couldn't give up so I kept pressing on and pressing on. I would walk a little then jog a little. I soon made 20 miles. This is when I start to feel good. I had my head phones in and a worship song came started playing and I could just feel the spirit of God in me. I believe, that without God, I would have given up. He helped me finish this race.
This was a race that I truly felt God while running. After the 20 mile mark the race seemed to just by that much faster.
I finished this race with such a Joy that I honestly can't put into words.
Thanks for reading,
You can be great! Trust in Him!
