"180" Movie

The "180" Movie is a powerful film. This documentary comes at the issue of abortion from a different angle. He compares The Holocaust to abortion in America. He begins to question the people of why they believe The Holocaust was wrong, and why they believe abortion is not. This is a must watch movie for every American. Abortion in American, he titles, "The American Holocaust." This "American Holocaust" must be stopped.

Viewer discretion advised. This movie does have some graphic images.
This movie is powerful.

Lets make a "180" in this Nation. We need more "180's" in America.

Running to Glorify God

Galatians 6:4-5

The Message (MSG)

"Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don't be impressed with yourself. Don't compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life."

Cannons - Phil Wickham

We should give God all our praise. We should praise him everyday. He deserves our praise.

Who are you really?

How many of us go through our days and act like someone that we are not?
Do you try to do things that will impress someone else? Or maybe you're trying to make some friends or get someone to like you.
These are all things that a lot of try to do every day. Lots of us do it with out even knowing it. We try to get satisfied by other people or things on this earth, when the only person that can satisfy us is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We do not need to try and find satisfaction in any other thing or person. God is the one who should satisfy us.

God is our satisfy-er. I pray that we would begin to see that.

Is Facebook Causing Divorce?

“A lot of married people — about 80 percent in the process of a divorce – are using a social network such as Facebook to cheat,” says a survey of divorce attorneys.

Although the divorce attorneys agreed Facebook is cited in 20 percent of all divorces, about 80 percent are using some kind of social media to make assignations or communicate with lovers, the New York Daily News reported. At least one Florida lawyer says those numbers are low and actually closer to about 90 percent.

What do you think? Is Facebook really to blame?

We as Christians can change this. We need to ministering to those who fall easily. We need to pray for our country. We need to pray those who are around us.

We need to pray.

John Piper "No, Mr. President"

John Piper speaks out against the President and what our government is doing. We need to do what God is calling us to do. Listen to John Piper's words and pray to God and see what he is telling you do. We have all been called!

We need to make a difference.
What will you do to make a difference in our government?

Start Where You Are

I am back to talk about another great book. It is also written by Alex and Brett Harris. The book is titled Start Here: Doing hard things right where you are. Why wait to start doing hard things?

Alex Brett tackled many issues that our generations deal with. In the book, Start Here, it gives examples of what others are doing and it gives ways to start doing hard things. Start Here is like a field guide or something to help you to start doing hard things.

The biggest thing that I have got from the book so far is that no what hard thing you are doing, you must be doing it for the Glory of God. We must not take credit for any hard thing that we do. This means that in every thing we do, we must do it for Gods Glory.

1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV)
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

We must not just do hard things, but we must do those hard things for Gods glory.

Where will you start doing hard things?

You Can Leave A Legacy

I believe we are called to "Leave a Legacy." We need to leave a legacy everyday. It doesn't necessarily have to be something big. It can just be the way you act around others. It can just be the way you treat the opposite sex. It might be how you lead those around. Or it might be what kind of example you are.
Leaving a legacy is a very hard task but it can be accomplished by anyone. God calls us to go out and preach his word (Mark 16:15). If we do this we will leave a big legacy.
If everyone lived with the mindset to leave a legacy, then we as young people would be able to change America and change the world.

What are you doing to leave a legacy?

Do Hard Things

"Most people don't expect you to understand what we're going to tell you in this book. And even if you understand, they don't expect you to care. And even if you care, they don't expect you to do anything about it. And even if you do something about it, they don't expect it to last. We Do." - Alex and Brett Harris

I have recently finished reading the book "Do Hard Things" by Alex and Brett Harris. The book is about A Teenage Rebellion Against Low Expectations. The book really touched me. I would recommend it to anyone, especially those in the teen years. I have never realized how important it is for me and other teenagers/young adults to make an impact. We can really Do Hard Things. We can do what our society doesn't expect us to do.

The book is written in three parts: Rethinking The Teen Years, Five Kinds Of Hard, and Join The Rebelution. Within those three parts there is a couple chapters. This book speaks about everything that involves teens. The thing that struck me most about this book was when it said that teens can do a lot more than is expected of them. This spoke to me because there has been a lot of things that I thought I couldn't do but after reading this book I realized that it is possible. For example, I can't remember the last time I finished reading a book, from front to back. But I challenged my self to finish this book and that is what happened. With God's help and my determination I finished.

I would suggest that every teenager read this book. It has impacted my life, and I believe that it will impact everyone that reads it.

The Little Things (Going The Extra Mile)

Have you ever heard about Going the Extra Mile?
This is what I am talking about when I say the Little Things. It may seem easy to do the little things (i.e. sweeping, yard work, vacuuming, laundry, etc), but going the extra mile in these little things is very important. We can accomplish  much. As a recent graduating high school student I have realized that there will be a lot of struggles if you try hard but through all that you will grow. Even if the people around you do not expect you to do anything, that does not meant that you should not do anything. We need to be thinking everyday about how we can go the extra mile. Whether is doing the dishes and laundry, even when you were only told to do the dishes. This can be different for everyone. I believe, that if we start to go the extra mile then we will grow more and become great leaders.
What will you do to go the extra mile?

Sacred Assembly

Joel 1:14
"Consecrate a fast, call a sacred assembly; gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord."
http://foothillschurch.org/am_cms_media/subpage-sacredassembly.jpg

A Sacred Assembly was was held at Foothills Christian Church from July 14 to July 17. At this Sacred Assembly God moved in many miraculous ways. He showed me personally that I can accomplish much, as can anyone else if they are serving and seeking after Him. God is everywhere all the time. We need to do all we can to make a difference by serving him and through that doing more for His Glory. Just starting out with something little can lead into something big.

For example, I have recently started reading a book called "Do Hard Things" by Alex and Brett Harris. I will talk more about this book when I am finished reading it. I have learned so far that I need to do the little things well, in order to be able to take on the big things.

The Sacred Assembly was very powerful and God is moving in a lot of people. We need to do what we can do to make a difference.

College... Creeping up on us.

College can be a very scary thing. In fact, it probably is one of the biggest challenges lots of us go through. The time between high school and college is very important. It is the time to make big challenges and is the time to grow more in every way. If one does not use their last year of high school as being productive then they will soon get very overwhelmed as their first year of college starts. I have recently been applying for Grossmont Community College (grossmont.edu). There is a lot that I have to get done, even before I step foot into my first class. I have made it a goal for me to not procrastinate and to get it done early rather than late.

College can be a beautiful time in one's life or it can be the most stressful time in ones life. It all depends on how we prepare ourself. But most of all it depends on how much we trust and believe in God.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make
straight your paths.
What will you put your trust in?

Running To Make A Difference

Luke 1:37

"For nothing will be impossible with God."
This is just one example of someone being used by God to make a difference. He decided one day, when he was fourteen, he would do what God is telling him. Ryan Hall uses running as way to serve God.
What will you use to serve God?

The Rebelution

Saturday I went to a conference. This was not an ordinary teen conference. It was a conference put on by teens for teens. This conference was very insightful and powerful.  The conference was ran by to young college age adults. Their names are Alex and Brett. They are twins. They have a very interesting story. This conference made me realize the ability that teens have today, but how our culture doesn't expect teens to do anything. This conference is called The Rebelution: "a teenage rebellion against the low expectations of an ungodly culture."
